Top Tips for Hosting the Perfect BBQ Party This Summer

When the sun comes out it can instantly make you feel happier and energized, and it’s the perfect excuse to get together with friends to enjoy the warm weather. While heading to your favorite beer garden might first come to mind, consider hosting a fabulous BBQ in your garden instead. It’s a classic summer pastime that everyone will enjoy, and it could even be more cost-effective than spending your evening at the bar. If you would love to have your friends over for some fun in the sun this weekend, here are a few tips to help you be the host with the most.

1.    Make Sure There is Some Shade

While soaking up some rays might be one of the things you love the most about the summer, it’s still wise to make sure you spend some time out of the sun to avoid burning or heatstroke. Furthermore, some of your guests might prefer to be in the shade even in the nice weather, so you must make sure that there is some seating available out of direct sunlight. This is easy to create by using parasols or even putting up a gazebo over some tables and chairs. You could even move some of your garden furniture under the shade of a tree if you have one in your backyard.

2.    Stock Up on Ice

No one wants to sip on a warm beer when the weather is hot, and this is why it is important to remember to stock up on ice before your guests arrive. You can empty some bags into a cooler to take outside with you or have plenty of ice for people to put in their drinks if they are sipping on cocktails, sodas, or spirit and mixers. Remember to clear some space in your freezer to accommodate the additional ice you’ll need to last throughout the afternoon/evening.

3.    Serve Up Some Delicious Food

Burgers and sausages are BBQ staples that are to be expected, but if you want to impress your guests consider serving up a variety of different meats, vegetables, and even fish. Take some time to marinade some of your meats for an enhanced flavor, or experiment with some new recipes for salads and other side dishes your guests can dig into. Look at these perfect BBQ recipes for some new ideas you can use.

4.    Create the Perfect Playlist

No party is complete without some excellent music to get everyone in a festive mood. Although there will be plenty of conversation flowing between your guests, it’s always worth putting on some great background music to complement the sunshine and brilliant food that you’re serving up. If you have the time, create the perfect playlist including everyone’s favorite tracks to help set the mood.

5.    Set Up Some Games

It’s also a good idea to offer some kind of entertainment for your guests to keep everyone lively. Set up some outdoor games such as badminton, kickball, giant Jenga, table tennis, etc., that people can get involved with if they are up for some friendly competition. This can also be useful if you will have children attending the BBQ as this can keep them entertained while the adults catch up with each other.

If you can’t wait to host a BBQ for your friends this summer, use these tips to make sure it’s a party to remember.
