The broccoli pizza has the classic round shape of a pizza, but the base is prepared with flour, but with broccoli, eggs, carrots and cheese, seasoned with spices and cooked in the oven.

Broccoli pizza can be seasoned to taste, like a normal pizza. If you want to experiment with some combinations, you could add cherry tomatoes and mozzarella, or fillets of anchovies or salmon, which go well with broccoli, or grilled vegetables: have fun customizing your pizza, as you prefer. Alternatively, you can also eat it “natural”: the mixture of vegetables, eggs and cheese makes it very tasty and nutritionally complete and satiating with no other additions.

A recipe that, if you combine it with bread or another source of carbohydrates, becomes a tasty single dish, also excellent on a diet.

Broccoli pizza: The nutritional properties

Broccoli pizza is a nutritious and satiating dish thanks to its mix of ingredients, which provide proteins, fiber, minerals and vitamins.

The broccoli contain vitamin A, vitamin C and flavonoids (beta-carotene, lutein, ziaxantina, crypto xanthine), antioxidant. To these nutrients are added sulfur compounds, in particular sulforaphane, which help you prevent tumors, especially breast, prostate, colon and lung cancers.

They are also rich in fiber, useful for keeping cholesterol under control, promoting satiety and intestinal transit.

Among the mineral salts, they contain in good quantities iron and potassium, which contributes to the correct heart, muscle and nervous function and regulates pressure.

The carrots, with beta-carotene, strengthen the antioxidant content of this dish, which is therefore useful to counteract the harmful action of free radicals, preventing aging, cellular degeneration and cancers.

The eggs and cheese are the protein portion of this recipe, but also bring, respectively, B vitamins and calcium.

Of course, if you season the pizza with other ingredients you will get an even more nutrient-rich dish.
