There are all sorts of natural hazards to be aware of in daily life, but there are also things that can happen that are preventable. And inside of several broad categories, there are habits that you can change or environmental indicators to look out for so that your don’t run afoul of the easy ones to miss.
So, in addition to the typical dangers you may be avoiding for the case of health and safety, add these five to your list as well – crime scene hazards, old industrial area hazards, slip and fall hazards, nutritional hazards, and lack of exercise hazards.
Crime Scene Hazards
Typically, after some sort of crime occurs, especially when there is some sort of biological matter as part of the scene, a crime scene company will clean it up. However, if you are near some type of crime or disaster and they haven’t arrived yet, there are definitely things to steer clear of. You don’t really want to be around blood, bile, or decomposing remains of any sort, for both your physical health and your mental health combined.
Old Industrial Area Hazards
Most of us are at least vaguely aware of the hazards of old lead paint. Well, if you’re out shooting epic photos of old industrial areas, better put that dust mask on and avoid eating the chips on the floor. But seriously, lead paint is a huge hazard, and it can be in old industrial areas and in old homes alike, so it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your health, especially concerning the health of your lungs and respiratory system.
Slip and Fall Hazards
If you live in areas of the world with ice, it only takes one near slip and fall before you realize just how fast you can hit the deck on a nasty day. Always wear the proper footwear during the slipping season, and watch where you’re stepping. If there are signs posted, make double sure that you pay attention to where ice may be hidden under the snow.
And if you don’t eat well and follow nutritional guidelines, you’re asking for health issues. This means avoiding the fat stuff and the sweet stuff in high doses, and even be a bit careful about things like salt, preservatives, and food coloring.
Lack of Exercise Hazards
Lastly, not exercises is one of the worst health hazards in the world. You’re aiming for heart disease and a lot of joint aches and pains if you don’t get up and out and move regularly, and the conditions will sneak up on you if you aren’t careful. Schedule exercise in regularly to avoid falling into that trap.
